Interview with Angeloonie

Time to get to know a bit more about Angeloonie. You've seen the work, let's hear a little something about the person.

Give us a short introduction about you.
My name is Vincent Dinkela, I live in The Netherlands. I like watching movies, playing videogames, playing soccer, photography, digital art and webdesign.

What aspect of yourself really stands out? Any peculiar habits or odd fascinations?
I get to hear I'm pretty smart often, which is kind of true I guess. Though I'm quite stupid for not using my intelligence that often. I lack at motivation on various things (especially school), which causes me to perform below my level, that's definitely my worst habit :).

I tend to re-read all English texts I type, I'm quite a perfectionist when it comes to English :)

Oh, and I allways write "allways" instead of "always" :p Don't know what's causing this.

What is that common every day thing that can really make your day?
Having a great talk with a friend on MSN Messenger or in real life. A good conversation brightens up my day!

Is there a typical topic, story or concept that fuels your creations? Where does that fascination come from?
Nature. I love taking photographs of nature. It wasn't always like that, I used to think nature was boring, but I'm starting to like it more each day :) Nature is very versatile and changes daily.

Visual artists and music is like cookies and milk, does music do anything for you?
It does. When I created my space paintings I really made more progress with music on, than I did without music. I listen to Techno, Trance and top40 music.

Which artists really influence you?
2 photographers I really like are Steve Bloom and Frans Lanting, their photography is incredibly beautifull. On GFXArtist I admire  Kurlowski, his photo's are awesome and he's a really good photographer. Other great artists are Elite Andrzej, Elite MsMichelleLynn, Elite Madilynnn, Elite, GFXartist sponsor Madanapale and  flowjoe.

Which artists do you consider to be the great ones of this time?
Steve Bloom and Frans Lanting, without a doubt.

How would you describe your style?
I love clear, crisp images with vibrant colours and good contrasts. I try to achieve that myself too. Sometimes it's hard to capture the colours you see, a photo is hardly ever exactly the same as the real thing. I also love black and white shots, so if the opportunity calls, I either take a B&W shot, or desaturate it in photoshop.

Do you strive to be as versatile as possible or do you stick to one thing?
I tend to be versatile with every photo, but I also stick to the same style most of the time. So a little bit of both I guess :)

What equipment do you use to create your work?
In august 2005 I bought my very first dSLR. The Canon EOS 350D (or Rebel XT in the USA). I bought the kit so I have the 18-55 lens, and I also got a 28mm macro lens. I'm also very happy with the Sigma 70-300mm lens I bought recently.

Wich programs do you use and what do you use them for?
I use Adobe Photoshop CS2 for editing photographs and paintings.

Any final words for the readers?
Thanks for taking the time to read this!
